A 1969 MG-BGT

Another of DeZezill's Project car's
to be in truth its my Dads 1969
MG-BGT
A good looking B
but like most it still needs working on
Again one of the starting blocks
Under seal the car ,
Next was to change the front valance from stock to sport.
And Fit new chrome in the way of
1. New Bumper
2. Badge Bar
3. Spot Lights

Next the rear shocks
one big problem with the B
Prone to leaking and having half the life of the new telescopic shocks
Also the engine bay came in for some TLC
with more chrome Rad surround
new oil cooler pipe work and a good cleaning
After all the rear work the cars were both treated
to sorting the handerling of them
A full strip down of the rear axel with spax rear shocks and refurbish plates with new U bolts
Next we start with the front end
3/4 Roll bar & Polly bush
and re build the front shocks
30% up rated....?
Next came the bling bling bits
both B's have had a touch of bling
The new chrome
window demist's

Bonnet hinges
Old door slammers
new door slammers
|
New Door Slammers
Even down to the clips on the heater
had a clean and chrome time
Ouch was the cry ...!!!!!
After going out on Drive it day 2006
and nearly home a strange noise came from the engine bay ,
sounding like a dropped valve
But its not that Bad
I ts Not that bad.. was the cry the fan had some how come loose and cut into the car rad so next was to
sort out an old rad we had clean and paint
and to dig the chrome fan out
And fit them both
Next the rear has another Play with a full Polly Kit on the springs and the rear shackles
Even the brake drums have had a clean and paint
Even the towing Eye has been cleaned and painted now you cant miss it if he brakes down..!!!
Next the interior has a good strip down and clean out
Due to damp..! what and where we don't yet know
There is yet still more work to do on this car
the fuel tank has one big dint in it ....
nothing to do with me driving it i might ad
Anyway one of the members of SMMGOC club had a spare tank and kindly gave it to us
The new tank will be fitted when fully painted and treated with wax oil....
Mean while the front now thinks its Xmas
a re fit of new Polly bushes has now been done

Yellow Fast road
Interior New leather Gaiter and the Momo Gear knob and shorten gear stick Cutting off about 1"
Elec Fault Rear window Demister Wire
Had cut itself luckily it had not caused a fire
so a new wire has now been fitted
K&N Filter Kit Now fitted
She now runs Like a rocket
we now have a few more bits to fit to the 69B GT a change from the old oil Filter stand up type to the new style screw on type cheaper & easier

Now it was the job we didnt want to do at All
the Bonnet pins, This means we have to drill and you never want to drill into any good body work what if you get it all wrong. Oh well here goes....
